EzyLoops are electromagnetic traffic detection
loops that are pre-wound and encapsulated in a protective, adhesive bandage so that they may be laid within a road pavement
as a single unit. The loops are laid at a depth of between 1.5 and 6 inches beneath a new asphalt base, during the construction
or maintenance of the road.
In the past, in situations where a road surface has been milled and re-sheeted with asphalt,
at the approach to an intersection, it was common to return later and saw cut the traffic sensor loops into the road surface,
dramatically reducing the life of the pavement at the worst possible location, an intersection!
Now, with the development
of the EzyLoops System, the loops can be installed into the road before the final layer of asphalt.
